From garden workdays to leading tours, helping with events, and more. We could not be here without the help of our community. Please review the information below to see how you can keep the gardens going while learning about habitat gardening along the way!
Signing Up
Garden Workdays do not require an application - simply sign up using our garden workdays calendar for the day(s) you're interested in joining us! If you are interested in becoming a docent, helping with events, or multiple tasks, fill out our general volunteer application.
Volunteer Positions
Garden Workdays
Regular workdays are every Tuesday and one Saturday of the month from 9 am to 12 pm. Learn about butterflies and habitat gardening from a hands-on approach. Enjoy the beauty of the Gardens while helping them thrive. A great way to see if Hallberg Butterfly Gardens is right for you. Simply sign up using our garden workday calendar
Docent - Lead a Tour
Volunteer docents add incredible value to our visitors' experience. If you would enjoy leading groups through the garden and teaching about butterflies and wildlife, we would love to have you on our docent team! We are currently accepting applications for Spring 2024. Accepting Applications through March. At-home training starts now. In-person docent orientation is April 12/13th from 10 am to 1 pm.
Event Volunteers
Event volunteers help with parking, booths, greeting guests, selling merchandise, and more. We have an annual Open Gardens Day and Moth Night that we need help with every year! Fill out the ‘Event Volunteer’ application to let us know your availability and what specific tasks you can help us with.
Share Your Skills
One of the greatest gifts to offer is your time and energy. What skillsets or experience do you have? We would love to hear from you! Please use the volunteer application.
Social Media
Take regular photos of the Gardens and our events to update HBG followers on the current butterfly sightings and happenings in the garden. Apply by filling out an application and a link to an example of your work.
Fundraising
Grant writing and development to support current needs and future projects. Previous experience is needed. To apply please fill out our volunteer application.
