  • HBG Search and Find

  • Picture Guide/Common Lepidoptera of HBG - This guide includes 12 common moths and butterflies (Lepidoptera) at Hallberg Butterfly Gardens. Includes photos of the caterpillar and adults!

  • Butterfly Host Plant List & Observation Form - Review examples of local butterflies’ flight seasons and record your observations of butterfly activity throughout their life cycle. Please be mindful not to disturb plants and animals while making observations.

  • Getting to Know Moths - There are over 11,000 moths throughout the United States. How do we begin to get to know them?! Let’s take a simplified approach to appreciating the diverse and mysterious world of moths.

  • Caterpillar Matching Game (print double-sided!) - Revised version 2024. Can you match the caterpillars with the moth or butterfly they turn into? After printing this game on the double-sided setting on your printer, cut out the square caterpillar and moth/butterfly cards. You can check the answers on the answer sheet or flip over each card to see if the numbers match.
