Thanks for your interest in the California Bumble Bee Atlas! The Xerces Society is holding an in-person field day training at Hallberg Butterfly Gardens. This training will help you learn more about how to net and photograph bumble bees as well as collect habitat data. It will also increase your enjoyment of the project! We highly encourage you to watch the remote training (live or recorded) before your in-person visit - click here. This training is required before you venture into the field to collect data.

Please bring an insect net and the camera (or smartphone) you plan to use for documenting your bee collections. Also, please make the usual preparations for spending time outside--comfortable footwear, sunscreen, plenty of water, a hat, etc.
